The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has launched a new package of digital services and solutions aimed at creating a more efficient and competitive business environment in Qatar.
The initiatives are designed to improve the investor experience, simplify business formation and operations, make information and government services more accessible, and support the country's ongoing digital transformation.
New E-Commerce Licence Covers 194 Activities
A key addition is the launch of an e-commerce licence covering 194 approved business activities.
The licence was introduced under Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thaniโs Decision No. 25 of 2026.
It allows businesses to establish and operate e-commerce activities entirely online by licensing the website designated for the activity in Qatar.
The licence costs QR500, with applications available online. The service is intended to give entrepreneurs and digital business owners greater flexibility while simplifying the process of launching new ventures.
MOCI Launches Updated Website
The ministry has also introduced an updated version of its official website with a modern interface and a more organised digital experience.
The redesigned platform focuses on users' needs, providing easier access to information and services while making it simpler to navigate different sections and resources.
Qatar Business Map Gets New Features
The Qatar Business Map has also been revamped with enhanced search and analytical tools.
Investors and entrepreneurs can use the platform to:
-
Explore business activities and establishments
-
Review market data and indicators
-

-
Identify suitable locations for new businesses
-

The upgraded platform is designed to help investors make more informed decisions using clearer and more accurate business data.
New Digital Certificates Service
MOCI has added new services to its mobile application, including a digital certificates service.
The service allows business owners, auditors and company representatives to obtain eight commonly used certificates and extracts instantly.
Users can select the required certificate, make the payment online and receive the document digitally.
Business Renewals Now Available Online
The upgraded app also includes a comprehensive business renewal service.
Users can review their business information, complete required procedures, submit applications, track their status and make payments online.
The service aims to simplify the renewal process while reducing the time and effort required to complete transactions.
MOCI Expands Digital Business Initiatives
The latest measures build on several initiatives introduced by MOCI during 2026 to improve transparency and the investor experience.
These include the Companies Regulatory Record Report, which provides general regulatory indicators on companies to support informed decisions and strengthen confidence in business transactions.
Other initiatives include the:
-
Business Advisory and Establishment Office
-
Integration of banking services through the One-Stop Platform
-
Modernisation of the business-activity classification system
-
Adoption of the Unified Classification Guide for Economic Activities across GCC countries

Digital Ecosystem Supports Investors
Together, the initiatives cover multiple stages of the investor journey โ from exploring markets and business opportunities and establishing companies to managing operations and accessing government services.
MOCI said the measures are helping simplify procedures while reducing the time and effort required for businesses and investors.
Supporting Qatar National Vision 2030
The ministry continues to develop an integrated digital ecosystem that places investors at the centre of service delivery while connecting processes, data and services for the business sector.
The broader effort aims to improve Qatarโs business environment, support private-sector growth and entrepreneurship, and strengthen the competitiveness and attractiveness of the national economy in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
